The Turkish machinery industry has redefined its goals and tasks as part of the European Green Deal. Like EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, we see this process as Green & Digital. This is because the digitalization of machines can help achieve sustainability goals faster and more efficiently.
Existing machines and infrastructures help to achieve the goals of the EU Green Deal. For a rethink and for the green and sustainable digitization of next generation machines and a circular economy, it is necessary to approach the topic with new approaches and new concepts.
Mechanical engineering sometimes bears great responsibility for the digital and green transformation. Although the industry plays such an important role, the EU Commission fails to put the mechanical engineering sector in the spotlight and underline the enormous importance of the industry.
In view of the challenges, the mechanical engineering industry should not be "regulated" but fostered in their innovative strength. Many of the tasks and goals need new innovative impulses.
